Admission requirements summary
Applicants should have completed a university bachelor degree in surveying, geodesy, geoinformatics or related fields such as computer science, geography, earth science, civil engineering, or physics with above average grades. Students should be familiar with the concepts of linear algebra, statistics and optimisation theory; they should have a basic understanding of digital imaging/computer vision, satellite positioning, and the Earth gravity field; finally, they need to have basic programming skills. In case of missing basics admission may still be granted, however subject to successfully completing additional courses in which these basics are being taught. Note, that in this case the length of the programme may exceed the normal 2-year cycle. If in doubt, please contact our study coordinator.
Furthermore, candidates must demonstrate that they have a sufficient knowledge of the English language (level C1). This knowledge must be proven by providing an accepted language certificate, e.g. TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge Certificate. Other certificates can be accepted, if Leibniz Universität Hannover establishes the equality with one of the named certificates. Native English speakers and students who have completed a bachelor degree in English are exempt from this requirement. University's English language requirements

To apply please enter the university' online application sites (page will only be online during application times!), fill in all required information, print it out, sign it and send it back by regular postal mail to the address given in the process.
- for a start in October (winter semester) application time is from mid April to May 31st for applicants from countries outside the EU (others until July 15th).
- for a start in April (summer semester) application time is from mid October to November 30th
for applicants from countries outside the EU (others until January 15th).
The application must contain all necessary documents in certified copies: Bachelor degree, transcript of records, language certificate and your signed CV.
